The Moroccan pouf is hand-stitched and hand-embroidered in vegetable-tanned goat leather. With a little care, it develops a patina and grows more beautiful over the years.
1. The new-leather smell
Vegetable tanning gives the leather a natural smell at first. Leave the pouf for a few days in a well-ventilated room, out of the sun: the smell fades on its own over time.
2. Everyday care
- Dust with a soft, dry cloth.
- Once or twice a year, apply a colourless leather cream or balm, then buff.
- Keep it away from radiators and long direct sun, which dry out and fade leather.
- Plump it up and turn it over now and then so it keeps its shape.
3. Stains
Blot any spill right away with a dry cloth. Avoid large amounts of water and household cleaners. For a greasy stain, sprinkle a little cornstarch, leave it, then brush gently.
4. How to use it
Footrest, extra seat for guests or a small table with a tray: a pouf fits in the living room, a child's room or by a reading corner. Pair it with a handwoven rug for a true oriental corner.
